Group dinner scheduling for one meal
A group dinner scheduling app holds one dinner: the time people can actually make, the restaurant they voted for, and the bill afterwards. Dinner Scheduler is the English name of 夾食飯, the Hong Kong iPhone app that does those three things. On the Hong Kong App Store the listing name is 夾食飯. This page is the English guide. The product page, with prices and the two downloads, is Dinner Scheduler.
Five friends can spend three days in a chat and still have no time that works. One person answers “I’m free” under yesterday’s message. Another answers “where?” before the day is settled. A group dinner scheduling app asks those questions separately, then shows the overlap.
What the chat mixes together
A WhatsApp thread about dinner usually asks two questions in one message: which day, and which restaurant. Replies land on different messages. Someone who joins late never sees which slot already had four yeses. The person who paid last time is also the person who ends up chasing the transfers.
The Cantonese version of this, for the same Hong Kong app, is 點樣約一班朋友食飯唔使喺 WhatsApp 拉鋸.
What a group dinner scheduling app keeps together
Dinner Scheduler keeps four records for one Hong Kong dinner. It does not search for restaurants on your behalf, and it does not read your contacts.
- Who is in the group. Each dinner has a 6-digit invite code. Friends who install the app join with that code. Nobody has to hand over a phone number.
- When people are free. Propose a few slots, or use the calendar from 6:00 in the morning to midnight. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon, dinner, and late night all fit. Darker cells mean more people are free. You read the overlap instead of scrolling for “Thursday works”.
- Which restaurant won. Each person suggests a place. Every suggestion includes an OpenRice link and a Google Maps link, so the group can check the review and the walk. The vote stays in the group. Dinner Scheduler is not a restaurant directory.
- Who owes what. After the meal, the Hong Kong app records who paid and what each person owes, then works out the fewest transfers. Amounts are in Hong Kong dollars. PayMe and FPS open from the group.
Agree the frame before anyone suggests a place: district, budget per person, anything someone does not eat, and how many seats. A hotpot in Causeway Bay and a banquet in Sha Tin should not share a vote unless the group is willing to travel. The Cantonese restaurant steps are 夾食飯點樣一齊揀餐廳.
Friends who have not installed it
On the Hong Kong app, share the invite link from the group. A friend can mark free times and vote on a restaurant in the mobile browser, without installing Dinner Scheduler first. The same link is what you would otherwise paste into the chat. The chat then carries one URL, not a fresh poll.
People who do install it see the same group. The browser reply and the in-app reply are the same dinner.
After the restaurant is set
Add the dinner to the phone calendar. The app reminds the group the day before. The bill stays in that group, so the scheduling and the split are not two different chats. A larger office meal uses the same calendar: people mark the cells they are free in, instead of each replying “which day?”. That Cantonese note is 公司聚餐點樣夾時間. The bill steps are AA 夾錢最快方法.
One dinner, not a weekly meal plan
Search results for “dinner scheduler” often mean a recipe calendar, a cooking timeline, or a week of meals at home. Dinner Scheduler is none of those. It does not store recipes, count calories, or schedule an oven. It coordinates the people at one table: when they meet, where they eat out, and how they settle the bill.
There are two downloads, with the same orange bowl icon. Download the one for the dinner you are planning.
